Hey Guys!
I finally took the Humanities CLEP test and I passed! 😀 I was kind of scared about this one because I was not doing very well on the Peterson’s practice tests although I was passing all of the other practice tests with high scores. (Sometimes I think the Peterson’s tests are harder than the official tests.) That’s six more credits (2 semesters of humanities) all in one test that I am DONE with!

This test covered lots of artist movements and had questions like “Who was the author of this passage?” Some of the material crossed over into Analyzing and Interpreting Literature. I studied hard for this test for 3 weeks, and I also used a lot of the knowledge I’d accumulated studying for both psychology and music.

I had to find a new testing center because my usual testing center was closed for spring break. But we were able to find one pretty easily, and it’s good to have more than one testing center to work with anyway. (Actually we have about 4 in the Houston area that we use, depending on their testing hours and our schedule.)

My next CLEP test will be Natural Sciences. I’m currently enrolled in Charter Oak State College’s required Cornerstone Course, which is an online, 8-week course for 3 credits. In it I’ll “undergo the intensive preparation needed to complete their degree program while learning principles and techniques of critical thinking, research writing, and interactive digital communication in academic and professional environments.” Sounds important.

More importantly though, I am now a grandma! My sister and I have two beautiful Australian Shepherds and, for the first time, we have six gorgeous grand babies – four boys and two girls!

Below are the courses/exams and the credits I’ve earned so far. My goal is to complete my Bachelor of Arts degree this year! These blog posts are to tell you how I’m doing it and hopefully encourage you to do the same!
