Life•hack [līfˌhak] noun; informal noun: life hack – a strategy or technique adopted in order to manage one’s time and daily activities in a more efficient way.

Here are 7 “strategies or techniques” straight from the Bible that apply directly to home schooling high school! His help has been right there all throughout our home school years, and He’s faithful to continue. So as we’re winding down last year and gearing up for next, let’s remember these seven offers of His…

#1 – His Wisdom

Do we think having wisdom for today’s, or tomorrow’s, or next month’s school decisions would simplify life?

Of course, it would!

So let’s take Him up on the offer of wisdom that He gives if we’ll just ask.

#2 – His Strength

Do we ever need strength beyond our own?

We’re promised His strength, and that’s another gift for all the times when ours just isn’t enough.

Or even when we think it is.

#3 – His Presence

Life gets even simpler when we remember that we aren’t alone. We don’t parent alone. We don’t home school alone. We don’t do anything alone.

Isn’t that a relief?!

#4 – His rest

We can make a cup of coffee.

We can take a deep breath.

We can do lots of things that are relaxing. But when we go to Him and accept His rest, that’s when we find “rest unto our souls.”

I like to remember this verse while I’m drinking a cup of hot coffee AND taking a deep breath!

#5 – His Attention

For all those times we need somebody to tell.

To tell our fears. Or our concerns. Or to express our gratitude or joy or excitement.

He’s listening!

#6 – His Care

Life is harder when we’re carrying around anxiety about this or about that.

This child. That problem.

What can we do with these anxious feelings?

He says cast them on Him!

#7 – His Forgiveness

Asking for, and accepting, his forgiveness removes a burden from us and gives us a lighter step, renewed joy, and true peace!

The words “Oh, what needless pain we bear…” can be so true.

Make life easier by accepting his love and forgiveness in exchange for confession of any wrong.

His wisdom.
His strength.
His presence.
His rest.
His attention.
His care.
His forgiveness.

While these take the stress and worry out of home schooling high school, they're offers I have to remember again and again. Sometimes it takes days of trying it on my own strength or wisdom before I remember that help is right there just for the asking.

I'm grateful for His love for me and the fact that He wants to carry the load - He wants home schooling high school to be a pleasure!
