So last week I took the CLEP American Government exam. I was going to take Humanities with it, and I’d actually been studying for it a couple of weeks before I took American Government, but since I’m not very good at poetry and I don’t really like it, I’m not ready yet. So I went ahead and just took American Government by itself.

I’d studied for it a year or two ago, but my mom said I didn’t need to take the test because it wasn’t needed with all the Physical Therapy stuff I was doing, so I didn’t take it. But now that I’m pursuing teaching I took a practice test to see where I was, and passed. I went ahead and took the official test last Tuesday, and I passed it!

Since Dual Credit at Home makes studying and getting college credits a lot faster, I am now able to do a whole bunch of extracurricular activities such as jiu jitsu – but usually I can only fit in one or two days a week because life can get really busy sometimes. It’s incredibly fun to learn, and it’s completely applicable in real life, especially in the area of beating up siblings! Here’s a picture of me with my coaches, Mr. Robert and Mr. Julian.

I’m currently reading a book called The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel. A friend recommended the book and it is really interesting 🙂 Some of my favorite books ever are the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit, A Girl Named Eva, and Everything You Need to Know About Pizza!

A couple of days ago my mom and I applied to Charter Oak State College! Now I’m in the process of transferring all the credits I’ve earned from the junior college and from CollegeBoard to Charter Oak. I’ll be taking their required Cornerstone course – it’s an online class that’s 8 weeks long and should be pretty easy.

Dual Credit at Home just had a photo contest that sadly I wasn’t able to participate in for obvious reasons. (Because I am related to the CEO of this company :P) It was really fun getting to see all of the entries and watch the votes rack up! Congratulations to Marie for first place and Mateo and Christian for second and third! Here are the three pictures I would’ve entered, had I been able to!

For the next week I’ll be studying for the Humanities CLEP exam. Hopefully I’ll get to deliver my speech (in my Professional Communications class), so I won’t have to worry about it anymore.
