Which product is best for my family?

If your student plans to attend a traditional four-year college (such as Liberty University, Texas A&M etc) Dual Credit 101 is a great starting point for you.

If your student plans to earn their degree at home from an accredited college that is credit-by-exam friendly, our most comprehensive product, Dual Credit at Home, is for you.

Your Questions Answered

No. All exams are purchased separately through College Board (CLEP) and Prometric (DSST). The current cost of a CLEP exam is $95 and the cost of a DSST exam is $100. Both exams also incur a modest testing center fee, set by your local testing institution.

Dual Credit at Home and Dual Credit 101 helps students complete their general education requirements; however, many of our students continue working on additional credits. Our programs give them a solid foundation for studying for credit by exam.

Many parents supplement their teen’s dual credit studies with a foreign language, music, sports, drama, band, speech & debate, etc. Often a student is also still studying some early level math or English material.

Dual Credit at Home: We deliver the first Study Plan by email on the first Monday three weeks after enrollment. We give this extra time so you can receive your Getting Started kit and order books. If you’d like to start sooner, simply email us and request immediate delivery.

Dual Credit 101: You will receive a download link by email within minutes of purchasing the program.

Dual Credit at Home: After full payment is received, we can deliver all the Study Plans in one convenient PDF document. Email us to request this, and we’ll send it at no additional charge.

Dual Credit 101: Within a few minutes of purchasing, you will receive an email with all the Study Plans.

Dual Credit at Home: Every college sets their own credit value of these exams, and at Charter Oak State College, Excelsior College, and Thomas Edison State University, they total 51 college credits. You, as the parent, award the high school credit for your student’s studies of these subjects.

Dual Credit 101: Again, every college sets their own credit value, but at Texas A&M, Liberty University, the University of Florida, among others, these exams are worth 30 credit hours.

YES! We have parents AND teens studying for exams together. The same methods detailed in The College Degree Roadmap apply to adult learners, plus they can use the Dual Credit at Home or Dual Credit 101 Study Plans.

Dual Credit at Home: We recommend the use of SpeedyPrep and InstantCert, two online flashcard programs. Both are not required, but we have seen our students have great success with them. We estimate that you can purchase the textbooks in our provided book list for approximately $300 in used condition. The CLEP and DSST exam fees are also not included in our program.

Dual Credit 101: Our assignments include using SpeedyPrep, an online flashcard program. We estimate that you can purchase the textbooks referenced in the Study Plans for approximately $250 in used condition. The CLEP exam fees are also not included.
